AU Legacy IV Showdown 8/28 at our Blue Bell store!

Alternate Universes Blue Bell  will once again be running a sanctioned Magic: the Gathering Legacy Tournament on Saturday August 28th.  Entry fee is $20.00.  Registration will open at 10AM and play will begin at 11AM.  Prizes for the tournament are as follows:

1st place: 4x Jace, the Mind Sculptor
2nd place: 1x Moat
3rd & 4th place: $50.00 store credit

If 25 or more players participate then prizes will be extended to 5th-8th places

Additionally, we will be giving away lots of door prizes including 18 MTG playmats,  an MTG backpack and other goodies.  We will also being randoming giving away a FROM THE VAULT: RELICS!!

Remember this is a sanctioned tournament so no proxies allowed.  Decklists are required and deck checks will be conducted.  A certified MTG Judge will be present for rulings.

Magic Vintage Tournament this Saturday, 8/14

This Saturday AU Blue Bell will be hosting the monthly 10 proxy Vintage tournament run by Nick Coss.  Registration for the tournament will begin at 11AM with play scheduled to start at Noon.  The entry fee is $25.00.  The prizes for the tournament are as follows:

        1st Place: UL Mox Jet!
        2nd Place: $200 in  table credit
        3rd + 4th Place: $100 in table credit
        5th-8th Place: $50 in table credit
        Highest player with no proxies: $25 in table credit

Magic Grand Prix Trial July 17th at AU, Blue Bell

AU, Blue Bell will be hosting a Magic: the Gathering Grand Prix Trial on Saturday, July 17th.  Registration will begin at 9:30AM with the tournament starting at 10AM.  The entry fee is $25.00.  The tournament will be Legacy format.  Winner receives 3 bye wins at Grand Prix Columbus.  Packs will awarded as prizes as well. 

The structure for Grand Prix trial tournaments will be modified-Swiss style, with a cut to top players playing in single elimination for prizes and byes based on attendance. The correct number of Swiss rounds is  based on the number of players playing in the tournament.

Magic 2011 Prerelease Tournaments are Sealed Deck format. Each player receives 6 Magic 2011 booster packs to build a deck. The tournaments are run using Swiss rounds with four rounds.
Prizes: 2 Magic 2011 boosters per tournament participant for the overall prize pool. Each participant will receive 1 Sun Titan promo card (while supplies last)
Entry is $25 if you preregister ($30 at the door)

Two Headed Giant Sealed pack

        K-Value: Unsanctioned, 10 proxies allowed for free. You can purchase up to five more proxies at $1 each.

        Decklists will be required (and published).

        The Prizes:

        2nd Place: $250 in credit 
        3rd + 4th Place: $100 in table credit

Magic – Archenemy Multiplayer Release Events

AU, Holmes and Wilmington will be hosting release events for the latest Magic: the Gathering multiplayer game  - Archenemy this Saturday, June 19th.  The Wilmington event will begin at 3PM and the Holmes event will begin at 6PM.  The cost is $20.00 per player which includes an Archenemy game pack!

ArchenemyRelease Events are a great way to experience and celebrate the release of the newest way to play multiplayer Magic – Archenemy! All participants receive a Plots That Span Centuries promo scheme card (while supplies last).

Release Event Format

  • Each player will receive one of the four Archenemy Game Packs. The game pack contains a 60-card Magic deck and a 20-card scheme deck.
  • Archenemy Release events will use an open play format. Players will be placed into game groups of 3-5 players. When a game finishes, players can play again or be regrouped into another game with new players.
  • Each player will receive a Plots That Span Centuries promo scheme card (while supplies last).

New Tournament Schedule for AU, Wilmington

AU, Wilmington will have a new tournament schedule begining Monday, June 7.   The new schedule is as follows:

Wednesday: Magic, the Gathering – Draft at 6:30PM, entry fee: $15.00
Thursday: Yu-Gi-Oh!  – Advanced Constructed format at 6:30PM, entry fee $5.00
Friday:  Friday Night Magic – Standard  at 7:00PM, entry fee: $5.00
                  Magic: the Gathering – Legacy at 7:30PM, entry fee $5.00.
Saturday: Yu-Gi-Oh!  – Advanced Constructed format at 10:30AM.  Entry fee $5.00
                      Magic: the Gathering – Standard at 3:00PM, entry fee $5.00
Sunday: Yu-Gi-Oh!  – Advanced Constructed format at 2:00PM.  Entry fee $5.00 (begins June 20th)

MTG Legacy Gran Prix Trial at AU, Wilmington June 13th

1st Place receives 3 byes at Grand Prix, Columbus and a playset of Tarmogoyfs!

 

Alternate Universes, WIlmington will be holding a Magic: the Gathering Grand Prix Trial on Sunday, June 13th.  Registration for this event will begin at 11:00AM and play will begin at Noon.  The format for the tournament is Legacy and the entry fee is $25.00.

The 1st place finisher will receive 3 byes at the Legacy Grand Prix Tournament  in Columbus, Ohio that will be held July 31st and August 1st.  The 2nd place finisher will receive $100 in store credit and, if more then 32 players participate, the same byes as 1st place.  Other prizes will be awarded based on the number of participants.  Additionally, we will be giving away many door prizes including a MTG backpack and Duel of the Planeswalker decks. 

Decklists are required and a MTG Judge will be present.

AU Stores Open on Memorial Day

All three Alternate Universes stores will be open on
Monday, May 31st, Memorial Day. 

 

AU, Wilmington will be open Noon to 6PM

AU, Blue Bell will be open Noon to 8PM

AU, Holmes will be open Noon to 10PM and we will be holding our usual Monday night draft starting at 7PM.

Wilimington Store Now Open!

Friday Night Magic Draft & MTG Sanctioned Standard Tournaments on Saturdays in May.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Thursdays & Saturdays.

We are pleased to announce the opening of our new store in the Talleyville Shopping Center, 3615A Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE. The store is conveniently located right off Route 202 in the Talleyville section of North Wilmington and is easily accessible from I-95. The new store has regular seating for 50+ players.

In May, every Friday night we will begin holding Sanctioned Friday Night Magic Drafts. The FNM foil promo card will be given out. This month the card is Cloudpost. Entry fee is $15.00. Sanctioned Standard Tournaments will be held every Saturday at 3:00PM. Entry fee is $5.00.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournaments are held Thursday Night at 6:30PM and Saturdays at 10:30AM.
Entry fee is $5.00. Packs are given as prizes to the top finishers.
