Yu-Gi-Oh! 2017 OTS Championship Tournaments – Saturday, February 25th at AU Holmes and AU Blue Bell

Alternate Universes is proud to announce that it will be hosting Yu-Gi-Oh! OTS Championship Tournaments at our Holmes and Blue Bell stores on Saturday, February 25th!  Stores will open at 10:00 AM for registration and play will begin at 11:00 AM.  There is no preregistration for this event.  Official Konami Judges will be present at each location.

Entry fee: $20
Each player will receive 4 OTS Packs for entering (or 5 booster packs depending on availability), plus 5 UDS Points.

Registration start: 10 AM
Play begins: 11 AM

Format:
All Yu-Gi-Oh! OTS Championship events are Tier 2 events, conducted as Advanced Format, Constructed Deck, Swiss-round events. The Yu-Gi-Oh! OTS Championship will play Swiss Rounds, with a Top 8 Playoff top cut, with prizes awarded at the end of the final playoff round played.  The number of Swiss rounds played will depend on the number of players in the tournament.

Decklists are required for this event.
Duelists can download the official KDE Deck List at http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/events/forms/KDE_DeckList.pdf. This is an editable PDF, so you will be able to type the card names in this form, which should help as your Deck List needs to be legible and complete – write the name of each card in full, and write down how many copies you have in your Deck.  Make sure your name and COSSY ID are on your Deck List.  If you do not have a COSSY ID they will be available on the day of the event.  Make sure your Deck List exactly matches your Deck.  There is a very helpful article that will help you fill out your Deck List properly. PRIZES:

  • First place winner, after the conclusion of the Top 8 Playoffs, will receive an exclusive Yu-Gi-Oh! OTS Championship Game Mat, an invite to the 2017 World Championship Qualifier, and 15 UDS Points (10 for the invite, 5 for accurately completing the WCQ Invite Form)
  • Top 4 Duelists, after the conclusion of the Top 8 Playoffs, will also receive invites to the 2017 World Championship Qualifier and 15 UDS Points (10 for the invite, 5 for accurately completing the WCQ Invite Form)
  • Additional booster pack prizes will be awarded to Top 8 based on attendance!

Yu-Gi-Oh! iPad Tournament – Saturday, November 26th at AU Blue Bell

To celebrate it’s new location, Alternate Universes Blue Bell will be holding a special Yu-Gi-Oh! iPad Tournament on Saturday, November 26th.  First place prize will be a brand new Apple iPad Mini!

For entering, each player will receive five OTS 3 packs!

5th – 8th place: 8 booster packs

Yu-Gi-Oh! iPad Tournament (WCQ Warm-Up) – Saturday, July 2nd at AU Blue Bell

Alternate Universes Blue Bell will be holding a special Yu-Gi-Oh! iPad Tournament on Saturday, July 2nd.  First place prize will be a brand new Apple iPad Mini!  It will also be a good way to warm-up for the North American World Championship Qualifier in Pittsburgh on July 8th, 9th, and 10th!

Entry fee: $25
For entering, each player will receive five OTS packs!

Registration start: 11 AM
Tournament start: Noon

PRIZES:
1st place: Apple iPad Mini

2nd place: $150 store credit
3rd & 4th places: a 24-pack booster box (or equivalent number of packs!)
5th – 8th place: 8 booster packs

Yu-Gi-Oh! Shining Victories Sneak Peeks – Saturday & Sunday, April 30th & May 1st!

Alternate Universes will be hosting Yu-Gi-Oh! Shining Victories Sneak Peek Events on Saturday, April 30th at all 3 AU stores and on Sunday, May 1st at Alternate Universes Blue Bell.  The dueling will begin on Saturday, April 30th at 10:00AM and run until 5:00PM. Dueling will resume at Blue Bell on Sunday, May 1st at 11:00 AM and run through 5:00PM.

Entry fee for the event is $20.00.  Each participant will receive 5 booster packs of Shining Victories with which to build a 40 card deck for casual play throughout the day. Each duelist will also receive a limited edition Ultra Rare Magical Cavalry of Cxulub!  Additionally, Shining Victories Sneak Peek playmats will be given away periodically throughout the day to random participants while supplies last! (Must be present to win.)  We will also be holding side events throughout the day during each event, during which cards from the new set will be legal!

Yu-Gi-Oh! Ultimate Duelist Series Qualifier – Saturday, November 21st at AU Holmes

Alternate Universes is hosting an Ultimate Duelist Series Qualifier on Saturday, November 21st at AU Holmes!  UDS Qualifiers are Tier 2 events held to allow players a fast way to earn UDS points in preparation for the next UDS Invitational in 2016.  This UDS Qualifier will run concurrently with the normally scheduled Saturday Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament.

Format: Advanced Constructed (Swiss rounds, Top 8 Cut)

Entry: $10
Each player will receive two packs of Astral Pack 8 and 10 UDS points for entering!

About Ultimate Duelist Series & UDS Points

The Ultimate Duelist Series Invitational is a free tournament open only to qualified Duelists who have earned a minimum requirement of UDS Points (100 UDS Points). They are exciting 2-day events that take place from Saturday to Sunday.  Duelists from all over will attend these events to compete for exclusive prizes, and spend the weekend Dueling, trading, and hanging out with hundreds of other Yu-Gi-Oh! fans.

You will need a minimum of 100 UDS Points in order to enter the next UDS Invitational.  To see how many UDS Points you currently have, check here: http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/ultimateduelist/udsrankings.html

UDS Points are the qualifying units you must earn in order to participate in an Ultimate Duelist Series Invitational.
UDS Points are awarded based on participation and/or final standings and judging in Ultimate Duelist Series Qualifiers, and at most Tier 2 events such as Regionals, Dragon Duels, Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series, and World Championship Qualifiers.

UDS Points are linked to your COSSY ID number. You must make sure that your COSSY ID has been properly registered (http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/events/cossy.html) in order to be eligible to participate in an Ultimate Duelist Series Qualifier. If you have never registered your COSSY ID, you must register your COSSY ID no later than four (4) business days prior to the UDS Invitational.
