This Friday night all 3 Alternate Universes stores will be holding random drawings at Friday Night Magic to let  a few lucky winners buy a copy of From The Vault: Relics for the suggested retail price of $34.95 plus tax.  These are the same FTV’s selling on Ebay for $60.00 to $75.00!

All you have to do qualify for the drawing is play in the Friday Night Magic tournament at one of three stores and be present when your name is called.  It’s that easy!  So come out and maybe you’ll get a chance to buy this once in a lifetime collection!

Tournament begins promptly at 10:00AM

Entry Fee: $20.00
Each participant will receive 5 booster packs of Duelist Revolution.

Top 32 finishers will receive an invite to the 2011 Yu-Gi-Oh National Tournament.  Top 8 finishers will receive additional prizes. 

Side Events including Dragon Dueling will be held beginning after Round 3

AU Legacy IV Showdown 8/28 at our Blue Bell store!

Alternate Universes Blue Bell  will once again be running a sanctioned Magic: the Gathering Legacy Tournament on Saturday August 28th.  Entry fee is $20.00.  Registration will open at 10AM and play will begin at 11AM.  Prizes for the tournament are as follows:

1st place: 4x Jace, the Mind Sculptor
2nd place: 1x Moat
3rd & 4th place: $50.00 store credit

If 25 or more players participate then prizes will be extended to 5th-8th places

Additionally, we will be giving away lots of door prizes including 18 MTG playmats,  an MTG backpack and other goodies.  We will also being randoming giving away a FROM THE VAULT: RELICS!!

Remember this is a sanctioned tournament so no proxies allowed.  Decklists are required and deck checks will be conducted.  A certified MTG Judge will be present for rulings.

Magic Vintage Tournament this Saturday, 8/14

This Saturday AU Blue Bell will be hosting the monthly 10 proxy Vintage tournament run by Nick Coss.  Registration for the tournament will begin at 11AM with play scheduled to start at Noon.  The entry fee is $25.00.  The prizes for the tournament are as follows:

        1st Place: UL Mox Jet!
        2nd Place: $200 in  table credit
        3rd + 4th Place: $100 in table credit
        5th-8th Place: $50 in table credit
        Highest player with no proxies: $25 in table credit

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist Revolution Sneak Peek Events on August 7 & 8 at all three AU stores!

Alternate Universes will be hosting theYu-Gi-Oh Duelist Revolution Sneak Peek Events August 7th & 8th at all 3 locations: Holmes, Blue Bell & Wilmington.   The dueling will begin on Saturday, August 7th at 9:30AM and run until 5:00PM.  Dueling will resume on Sunday, August 8th at Noon through 5:00PM.  These dates and times are for all 3 locations!

Entry fee for the event is $20.00.  Each participant will receive 5 packs of Duelist Revolution to build a 40 card deck for casual play through out the day.  Each duelist will also receive a foil promo card.    Additionally, Duelist Revolution Sneak Peek playmats will be randomly given away throughout the day while supplies last.  (must be present to win).

Side events will be held at each location as follows:

Holmes
Constructed tournaments at 2PM Saturday & Sunday. $5.00 entry fee.   All players receive a Turbo Pack 3 upon entering.

Blue Bell
Saturday, August 7th
Noon:  Box tournament – $10.00 entry fee – single elimination (8 person)
2PM: Constructed Tournament  $5.00 entry fee.
Sunday, August 8th

Yu-Gi-Oh! Apple IPad Tournament at AU, Blue Bell July 31st

July 8th, 2010

AU, Blue Bell will be hosting a Yu-Gi-Oh Tournament on Saturday, July 31st with a 1st place prize of a brand new Apple Ipad computer.  Registration will begin at 10AM with the tournament to start at 11AM.   Entery Fee is $20.00 and the format is advanced constructed.  Decklists will be required and there will be qualified Yu-Gi-Oh judges present.  Rules enforcement will be the same as for Regionals.  This tournament is limted to 80 players so come early to make sure you don’t get shutout.  

Prize Structure

1st place: Apple IPad
2nd place: $150 store credit
3rd & 4th: 24 packs
5th – 8th: $50.00 store credit

Magic Grand Prix Trial July 17th at AU, Blue Bell

AU, Blue Bell will be hosting a Magic: the Gathering Grand Prix Trial on Saturday, July 17th.  Registration will begin at 9:30AM with the tournament starting at 10AM.  The entry fee is $25.00.  The tournament will be Legacy format.  Winner receives 3 bye wins at Grand Prix Columbus.  Packs will awarded as prizes as well. 

The structure for Grand Prix trial tournaments will be modified-Swiss style, with a cut to top players playing in single elimination for prizes and byes based on attendance. The correct number of Swiss rounds is  based on the number of players playing in the tournament.

        K-Value: Unsanctioned, 10 proxies allowed for free. You can purchase up to five more proxies at $1 each.
        REL: Competitive (like a PTQ)
        Decklists will be required (and published).

Magic – Archenemy Multiplayer Release Events

AU, Holmes and Wilmington will be hosting release events for the latest Magic: the Gathering multiplayer game  - Archenemy this Saturday, June 19th.  The Wilmington event will begin at 3PM and the Holmes event will begin at 6PM.  The cost is $20.00 per player which includes an Archenemy game pack!

ArchenemyRelease Events are a great way to experience and celebrate the release of the newest way to play multiplayer Magic – Archenemy! All participants receive a Plots That Span Centuries promo scheme card (while supplies last).

Release Event Format

  • Each player will receive one of the four Archenemy Game Packs. The game pack contains a 60-card Magic deck and a 20-card scheme deck.
  • Archenemy Release events will use an open play format. Players will be placed into game groups of 3-5 players. When a game finishes, players can play again or be regrouped into another game with new players.
  • Each player will receive a Plots That Span Centuries promo scheme card (while supplies last).
