Special Two-Sided Human/Wolf Tokens for 4/6 Friday Night Magic Tournaments
March 30th, 2012The moon is very important in Innistrad Block, and on Innistrad-the-plane. The place is teeming with werewolves, for one thing. And cards such as Moon Heron and Full Moon’s Rise call it out explicitly.
We bring this up because in the real world, April 6, 2012 is a full moon. And it’s a Friday. And what could be more thematic than playing Innistrad Block cards at Friday Night Magic under a full moon?
To help answer that question, Wizards of the Coast has sent out the first Double-Faced Token. One side’s a 1/1 Human, and the other side is a 2/2 Wolf. While supplies last, they’ll be given out to everyone who plays Friday Night Magic on April 6, 2012. And of course, the regular Friday Night Magic promo card for April (Dismember) will be given away as well.
Cardfight!! Vanguard Win-A-Box Tournament at AU, Blue Bell, Saturday, March 24th

Alternate Universes Blue Bell will be hosting our first Cardfight!! Vanguard Tournmant on Saturday, March 24th at 2:00PM. Registration will open at 1:00PM. Entry fee is $10.00 and winner will receive a box of the latest Cardfight! Vanguard expansion set – Onslaught of Dragon Souls. Other prizes will be awarded depending on the number of players. This is a double elimination tournament, with best out of three matches.
MTG Game Day Tournaments
February 24th, 2012Alternate Universes will be holding Magic: the Gathering Game Day on Saturday, February 25th at the Holmes and Wilmington stores. These are standard format tournaments with a $5.00 entry. The winner is crowned store champion for the Dark Ascension set.
All participants receive an exclusive Strangleroot Geist card (while supplies last). The Top 8 players also each receive an exclusive Zombie Apocalypse extended-art prize card (while supplies last). These cards are awarded to the Top 8 players even if the tournament cuts only to the Top 4. In addition, the first-place finisher at Dark Ascension Game Day will receive an exclusive playmat.

This Saturday! MTG New Phyrexia Game Day
June 10th, 2011Alternate Universes will be hosting Magic: the Gathering Mirrodin Besieged Game Days Tournaments at all 3 location on Saturday, June 11th . Game Days Tournaments are Standard format. The tournament will be Swiss-style, with the top 8 players after the Swiss rounds advancing to the single-elimination finals. All participants receive an exclusive Priest of Urabrask promo card (while supplies last). The Top 8 payers each receive a full-art Myr Superion promo card.

World of Warcraft, TCG Realm Qualifier at AU, Wilmington this Sunday!
March 30th, 2011Our Wilmington store will be hosting a World of Warcraft Realm Qualifier this Sunday, April 3rd. The tournament will begin at Noon, with registration to open at 11:30AM. This is a sealed pack tournament with a $25.00 entry fee.
Players will compete in a Swiss tournament. This will be best two-of-three game matches and sixty minute rounds. Players will use 6 booster packs of Worldbreaker for deck construction. The number of rounds is determined by the number of players.
PRIZES:
- Top Prize – Freezing Band Foil Card
- Top 4 – Totemic Recovery Foil Card
- Top 8 – Priest Deckboxes (+ 2 given out as door prizes)
- Booster Packs based on final standings.
- Participation Card – Wavestorm Totem Foil Card (First 16 players)
Yu-Gi-Oh! Storm of Ragnarok Sneak Peek Events!
January 21st, 2011Alternate Universes will be hosting Yu-Gi-Oh Storm of Ragnarok Sneak Peek Events February 5th at the Holmes, Blue Bell & Wilmington stores and Sunday February 6th at the Holmes and Blue Bell stores. The dueling will begin on Saturday, February 5th at 9:30AM and run until 5:00PM. Dueling will resume on Sunday, February 6th at 11AM through 5:00PM.
Entry fee for the event is $20.00. Each participant will receive 5 booster packs of Storm of Ragnarok to build a 40 card deck for casual play through out the day. Each duelist will also receive a foil promo card. Additionally, Storm of Ragnarok Sneak Peek playmats will be randomly given away throughout the day while supplies last. (Must be present to win.)
Side events will be held at each location as follows:

Constructed tournaments at 2PM Saturday & Sunday. $5.00 entry fee. All players receive a Turbo Pack 4 upon entering.
