Saturday May 13th @ 12:00 will be the next War Hammer 40,000 tournament. There will be a $10.00 entry fee. As usual all will go to prize support. If there are more players there will be more prizes to give away. You can sign up at the front counter of the store. Here are the rules:
This Warhammer 40K tournament is a large tournament with a tight schedule. Once pairings are announced, players are expected to promptly move to their tables and make the best effort to complete their games before time expires. During the course of play, if you feel that your opponent has violated any game or tournament rules, please contact the judge to review the incident. Once scoring sheets are turned in, judges will have little opportunity to address your concerns.

BASIC RULES
Armies will consist of 1,850 points using the army construction rules below:

Army Construction:
1) Detachments - ONE -Modified Cad or Cad equivalent.
1a) See restrictions in the post below.

2)Formations - Not this month boys!

3) Forge world army lists & units may not be used - Not this month boys!

4) Fortifications - No

5) Codex Imperial knights - No

6) Lords of War - None (not even non super-heavy/gargantuan)

7) Tactical Objectives: Yes, some missions will use them. You can use either army specific ones or main rulebook. Cards are preferred, but not necessary. If you are using cards please remember players cannot share a deck.

9) Death from the Skies - Yes!

10) Updates and FAQs - Yes

The Warhammer 40K 7th Edition Rules will be used.

What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG), is preferred but not required.
Proxies /Conversions (substitute models) are allowed. (With the T.O.’s permission)
You must provide access to your own rules (which include the actual Codex/White Dwarf & FAQ used for your army), dice, templates, pen/pencil, calculator, or anything else you'll need during the course of regular play. No Casino Dice!

Army Lists: Army lists are public; you must have an army list for your opponent to review upon request.

Warlord Traits:
Roll as the current rulebook states

Terrain: Will be set up tournament organizers. Adjustments will be made to accommodate fortifications.

In order to keep the tournament running on schedule, when time is called for a round, you may finish the turn in an acceptable amount of time. Ending with the bottom of a turn.

The number of games played will be 3 @ 2hrs and 15mins.

For the first round of games, pairings will be randomly generated by the TO by any mystical way he chooses. Subsequent pairings after the first round will be determined by Swiss Style pairings, meaning players of equal standing are matched up for the next round.
The objective of tournament play is for everyone to have a good time. Players should remain courteous and patient with their opponents and the judge.

Sportsman: Players will judge they’re opponents in the order that they enjoyed their game; the first name should be the person you enjoyed playing the most.

PAINTING
Players will evaluate their opponents’ army after each round.
AWARDS

Overall Champion: A combination of all three scores (Sportsmanship breaks ties)

General: Best Record (Battle Points breaks ties)

Best Painted: Painting Score

Player's Choice: Best Sportsman

Hope to see you all on May 13th at 12:00pm

In depth tournament army construction:

Restrictions:

-1850pts

-Army composed of Single C.A.D or C.A.D.equivalent

C.A.D. Equivalents (examples):

Skitarii Maniple
Harlequin Masque Detachment
Cult Mechanicus Battle Congregation
Castellans of the Imperium
Grand Convocation Detachment
Or any Cad style detachment that doesn’t include a formation as part of its detachment requirements or has a requirement filled by purchasing units in bulk. i.e. Decurion, Eldar host etc.… You cannot use one of these detachments even if you do not take the formations or Bulk purchase options.

If you are unsure if your cad equivalent is allowed please contact me, I will be happy to answer any questions.

-Detachment – One, no allies

-No Formations

-No Lords of War of any kind

- No Fortifictions

-Other than Troops, no more than 2 mirror/identical copies of Elite, Fast, Heavy units. (Buying up-grades for a 3rd unit to make it not identical to the other 2 is NOT ALLOWED)

EXAMPLE: changing thunder hammer/storm shield from the 1st two units to 3rd unit having power fist/storm shield, or just equipping a melta bomb on the 3rd unit.
(Basically your 3rd choice slot should be a totally different type of unit/model type)

-No Mirror/Identical HQ choices with the same upgrade rule.

-To acquire/unlock 2nd HQ, Elite, Fast, Heavy choice you must have a minimum 3 troop choices. - If your detachment allows.

-To acquire/unlock 3rd Elite, Fast, Heavy choice you must have a MINIMUM of 5 troop choices - If your detachment allows.

Game play Errata:
Strength D - will count as Strength 10 ap1 for this event!

Today we had 15 players and it poured...oh dear did pour. We finished off 7th edition with a fun tournament with a lot of limitations on our army construction. Normally we allow just about everything, instead we imposed some limitations to open up the playing field. We had three new players, Matt (You remember Matt... he played in manfest....you don't oh ...oh well) Brad, and Charvel....Hope to see all three of you again
Kevin took overall, Matt had General wrapped up. Carvel took sportsman and Alex and I split painted. Mike and Tj took home random prizes respectively....
With eight edition incoming we are more than likely holding a get to know the game day in June, We are gonna call it Organized Play Day it will be held on June 10th the rules are going to be fluid at beast pay attention to the rules as they become available...
