Saturday September 17th @ 12:00 will be the next War Hammer 40,000 tournament. There will be a $15.00 entry fee. As usual all will go to prize support. If there are more players there will be more prizes to give away. You can sign up at the front counter of the store. Here are the rules:
This Warhammer 40K tournament is a large tournament with a tight schedule. Once pairings are announced, players are expected to promptly move to their tables and make the best effort to complete their games before time expires. During the course of play, if you feel that your opponent has violated any game or tournament rules, please contact the judge to review the incident. Once scoring sheets are turned in, judges will have little opportunity to address your concerns.

BASIC RULES
Armies will consist of 2,000 points using the army construction rules below:

Army Construction:
1) Detachments -
1a) You can play as many as you want.
1b) You may play multiple Combined Arms Detachments. But each is unique (You can't play multiple CADS from the same codex)
1c) You may ally with your primary army. IE..Use an allied detachment from the same codex (1 HQ, 1 Troop, etc...)
1d) Allies Matrix - No army can be composed of allies "Come the Apocalypse" i.e. Tyranid w/ demon allies, Eldar w/ Necron etc.
2)Formations - All current (40k Approved) are legal

3) Forge world army lists & units may be used.

4) You may select 0-1 fortifications (No points limit)

5) Codex Imperial knights - legal
5a) If you ally with Codex Imperial knights you may only select one knight as a lord of war.
5b) Adeptus Mechanicus War Convocation - You can take multiple knights only if the Oathsworn portion also contains your warlord. (Knights are the primary portion of the formation - pm me if you have any questions)

6) Lords of War - Non Super Heavy/Gargantuan Creature Lords are allowed (Dante, Ghazzy, Logan, etc..)
6a) This type of Lord of War does not count towards your limit. (i.e. you can take Dante and ally in an imperial knight)

7) Superheavy/Gargantuan Creature - One per army! (Codex Imperial knights ignore this rule)
7a) Codex Imperial knights cannot ally an additional Lord of War (Superheavy/Gargantuan Creature).
7b) All Current lords of War are legal but cannot exceed 925pts.

8) Tactical Objectives: Yes, some missions will use them. You can use either army specific ones or main rulebook. Cards are preferred, but not necessary. If you are using cards please remember players cannot share a deck.

9) Death from the Skies - Yes!

The Warhammer 40K 7th Edition Rules will be used.
Forge World Imperial Armor units may be used . The actual Forge World model, or a PRE- Approved Scratch built must be used along with the latest rules. Failure to use the most current rules will result in losses for all games played using incorrect rules. It is your responsibility as a player using Forge World to know what the most recent rules are. Additionally, you must bring a copy of the latest rules for each of your opponents to review. If you choose to use Imperial Armor units, you must bring a copy of their rules for each of your opponents to review.
What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG), is preferred but not required.
Proxies /Conversions (substitute models) are allowed. (With the T.O.’s permission)
You must provide access to your own rules (which include the actual Codex/White Dwarf & FAQ used for your army), dice, templates, pen/pencil, calculator, or anything else you'll need during the course of regular play. No Casino Dice!

Army Lists: Army lists are public; you must have an army list for your opponent to review upon request.

Warlord Traits:
Roll as the current rulebook states

All armies must be Battle Forged

Terrain: Will be set up tournament organizers. Adjustments will be made to accommodate fortifications.

In order to keep the tournament running on schedule, when time is called for a round, you may finish the turn in an acceptable amount of time. Ending with the bottom of a turn.

The number of games played will be 3 @ 2hrs and 15mins.

For the first round of games, pairings will be randomly generated by the TO by any mystical way he chooses. Subsequent pairings after the first round will be determined by Swiss Style pairings, meaning players of equal standing are matched up for the next round.
The objective of tournament play is for everyone to have a good time. Players should remain courteous and patient with their opponents and the judge.

Sportsman: Players will judge they’re opponents in the order that they enjoyed their game; the first name should be the person you enjoyed playing the most.

PAINTING
Players will evaluate their opponents’ army after each round.
AWARDS

Overall Champion: A combination of all three scores (Sportsmanship breaks ties)

General: Best Record (Battle Points breaks ties)

Best Painted: Painting Score

Player's Choice: Best Sportsman

Hope to see you all on September 17th at 12:00pm

In addition to our usual prize support, we will also be giving away to a player $100.00 in GW credit. (If we have 15 or more players, otherwise it will be 75$) It's free because it will be in addition to any money collected from entrance fees. Example: 20 players enter at 15$ a person, 20x15 = $300.00 and an additional $100.00 in store credit will be handed out to one person.

Here is how it works, at the end of the tournament. I will roll a D20 in front of all the players. If your assigned number is rolled you win The only player unable to win this prize is the person who came in First overall. (Really with the overall prize, Don't be greedy) . You must be present to win this. If you leave before results are announced you will be ineligible to win.... :dodgy:

So $300.00 in store credit
$100.00 in additional credit
random prizes ?????
and maybe one more extra special random prize.....This one of our cornerstone events, and I hope to see everyone there.

Today we had 12 players for our anniversary tournament. this starts the beginning of our 9th years running events. I would like to thank all of the players thru the years that have come thru the doors to watch me get my heini kicked! Yes Alternate Universe is a card store primarily but...hey 9 years isn't bad and we aren't going anywhere! So on to the results.....Kevin came in first going 3-0 with the Grateful Mech! I stumbled into second.
Jay dropped into best General with the Skyhammer Helldrop, Craig took second. Sportsman was split with Jess and Dan taking top honors. Hello Kitty took best painted followed by Jeff's Demonkin ...sweet thirster by the way! Dan took the random prize continuing the streak of no repeats of this prize.....players that participate in next month's tournament will have the first opportunity to play in Manfest 5! on December 10th
Next month's tournament is October 8th, I look forward to seeing everyone there...http://alternateu.com/forums/posting.php?mode=post&f=196
