In 1998, Pokémon fans in the U.S. got their first taste of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Collectors loved the cards for the amazing artwork and special features; gamers loved the strategy and balanced complexity of a game they could play with friends, in local competitions, or at tournaments. The Pokémon Trading Card Game continues to get better and better. So, whether you build competitive decks with your cards or store them in sleeves to keep them in mint condition, you’ll want to check out some of the highlights from the official Pokémon expansions that have hit the shelves over the years.
Blue Bell Store:
Pokemon league is held every Sunday at 12:30PM. Come and play in a fun and friendly casual environment!
Wilmington Store:
Pokemon league is held every Sunday Noon to 2PM.
Holmes Store:
Pokemon league is held every Sunday Noon to 2PM.

Alternate Universes will be hosting the Pokemon B&W Plasma Storm Prerelease tournaments at our Blue Bell & Wilmington Stores. The prerelease is a sealed pack four round tournament. Players receive 6 booster packs of Plasma Storm to build a deck. (Basic energy will be available for the players to use). All players will also receive 2 more booster packs as a participation prize when they are done playing.
Entry fee: $30 at the door. Preregister for $25 at http://professor-oak.com/preregistration/ up to the Thursday before the event.
All players receive a promo card and a special themed promotional item while supplies last.

Alternate Universes will be hosting the Pokemon City Championships this weekend. On Saturday, November 26th the Championship will be held at the Blue Bell store. On Sunday, November 27th the tournament will be held at the Wilmington store. Registration begins at 10AM with play at 11AM both days. These tournaments are FREE!
Format: Modified Constructed
Prizes for each of three age groups:
1st: 18 boosters + 6 championship points
2nd: 10 boosters + 5 championship points
3rd & 4th: 4 boosters each + 4 championship points
(if there are 32+players in age group then 5-8Th receive 3 championship points)
All players receive a promo card while supplies last. Door prizes: pokeballs, stickers, pencils

Alternate Universes will be hosting Pokemon Battle Roads Tournaments at all three of our locations as follows:
Holmes: Saturday, September 24th - Registration at 10AM, Play at 10:30AM
Blue Bell: Saturday, October 1st - Registration at 10AM, Play at 11AM
Wilmington: Saturday, October 8th - Registration at 10AM, Play at 11:00AM
Entry: Free
Format: Modified Constructed – Bring your own 60 card deck using cards from HeartGold SoulSilver and later. We will use the Black & White rules. Decklists are required.
PRIZES: (Prizes go to the Top 4 in each age group)
1st Place: Gold Victory Cup & 4 booster packs
2nd Place: Silver Victory Cup & 4 booster packs
3rd Place: Bronze Victory Cup & 2 booster packs
4th Place: 2 booster packs
You may play in as many Battle Roads as you would like.
These are Premier events (so you can gain rating points). The K value will be 4.
After the swiss rounds (where everyone plays) there will be a maximum single elimination cut of top 4.

Due to Hurricane Irene, Alternate Universes was forced to cancel the special Pokemon sealed pack prerelease tournaments for Pokemon Black & White: Emerging Powers scheduled for our Wilmington store last Sunday. The tournament will now take place at AU Wilmington on Sunday, September 4th. Registration begins @ 12 Noon; Play begins @ 12:30 PM
The entry fee will be $25. The sealed pack tournament means that each player will receive 6 boosters of the new Emerging Powers set with which to build a deck and play for 4 rounds. Each player will also receive 2 bonus packs just for participating, as well as promo cards and Themed gift items while supplies last.

Alternate Universes, Holmes will be hosting a Pokemon City Championship Tournament on Saturday. December 4th. Here are the details:
- Registration will open at 10:00AM and play is scheduled to begin at 11:00AM.
- Entry is FREE!
- Format is Modified Constructed (Bring a 60 card deck that meets the Modified Constructed rules).
- Results of these tournaments count toward your Modified Constructed Ratings.
- This is a Premier Event: K value of 16. Maximum Top Cut of 8.
- Three age Groups: Junior Division born in 2000 or later; Senior Division born in 1996, 1997, 1998, or 1999; Masters Division born in 1995 or earlier.
- Prizes for each of the three age groups: 1st place: 18 boosters and a medal; 2nd place: 10 boosters; 3rd & 4th places: 4 boosters each
- Each player receives a promo card (while supplies last)
DOOR PRIZES will be given out (stickers, pencils, beach balls, caps and playmats)
