MTG Dark Ascension Launch Parties this weekend at AU!
February 1st, 2012Dark Ascension Launch Parties are a great way to celebrate the release of the latest Magic: The Gathering set! Play, trade, spend time with friends, and win cool prizes! All participants receive an exclusive Launch Party promo card (while supplies last).
Alternate Universes will be hosting Dark Ascension Launch Parties at all 3 locations:
AU, Blue Bell: Friday, February 3rd at 7:00PM; Draft Format (2x Packs Dark Ascension, 1x Innistrad); Entry Fee: $15.00
AU, Holmes: Saturday, February 4th at 6:00PM; Sealed Deck Format (6x packs of Dark Ascension); Entry Fee: $30.00
AU, Wilmington: Friday, February 3rd at 7:00PM; Draft Format (2x Packs Dark Ascension, 1x Innistrad); Entry Fee: $15.00
Registration begins 1 hour before tournament start time. All participants will received foil release promo card (while supplies last).
Yu-Gi-Oh! Order of Chaos Sneak Peek Events January 14th & 15th at all 3 AU stores
December 28th, 2011Alternate Universes will be hosting Yu-Gi-Oh Order of Chaos Sneak Peek Events Saturday, January 14th and Sunday, January 15that the Holmes, Blue Bell & Wilmington stores. The dueling will begin on Saturday, January 14th at 9:30AM and run until 5:00PM. Dueling will resume on Sunday, January 15th at 11AM and run through 5:00PM.
Entry fee for the event is $20.00. Each participant will receive 5 booster packs of Order of Chaos to build a 40 card deck for casual play throughout the day. Each duelist will also receive a foil promo card. Additionally, Order of Chaos Sneak Peek playmats will be randomly given away throughout the day while supplies last. (Must be present to win.)
Side events will be held at each location as follows:

Constructed tournaments at 2PM Saturday & Sunday. $5.00 entry fee. (Order of Chaos cards will be legal). All players receive a Turbo Pack upon entering.

Pokemon City Championships at AU, November 26th & 27th
November 23rd, 2011Alternate Universes will be hosting the Pokemon City Championships this weekend. On Saturday, November 26th the Championship will be held at the Blue Bell store. On Sunday, November 27th the tournament will be held at the Wilmington store. Registration begins at 10AM with play at 11AM both days. These tournaments are FREE!
Format: Modified Constructed
Prizes for each of three age groups:
1st: 18 boosters + 6 championship points
2nd: 10 boosters + 5 championship points
3rd & 4th: 4 boosters each + 4 championship points
(if there are 32+players in age group then 5-8Th receive 3 championship points)
All players receive a promo card while supplies last. Door prizes: pokeballs, stickers, pencils

MTG Innistrad Game Day, Saturday October 29th at all three AU stores

Alternate Universes will be holding Magic: the Gathering Game Day on Saturday, October 29th at all 3 AU stores. These are standard format tournaments with a $5.00 entry. The winner is crowned store champion for the Innistrad set.
All participants receive an exclusive Diregraf Ghoul card (while supplies last). The Top 8 players also each receive an exclusive Elite Inquisitor extended-art prize card (while supplies last). These cards are awarded to the Top 8 players even if the tournament cuts only to the Top 4. Pack prizes will also be awarded.
The schedule for the tournaments is as follows:
Blue Bell & Holmes: Saturday October 29th at 6:00PM
Wilmington: Saturday, October 29th at 3:00PM
Registration begins one hour before the start time.
MTG Delaware State Championship at AU Wilmington, Saturday, October 15th
October 10th, 2011Alternate Universes, Wilmington will be hosting the Magic: the Gathering Delaware State Championship Tournament on Saturday, October 15th. Registration opens at 9AM with play to begin at 10AM. Here are the details:
$25 Entry Fee
Held in all 50 states & Puerto Rico
Format: Standard (including Innistrad)
Prizes:
- A gorgeous unique Top 8 Playmat, done by Kekai Kotaki. Only 500 of these will ever exist.
- Each State/Provincial Champion receives a championship plaque
- Champions receive a Custom DCI Card done by Kekai Kotaki
- Champions Receive FREE entry into all Constructed Premier Events for a Year!
- Booster packs to top players based on attendance
There is no residence requirement this year. You can play in any state. You can play in Delaware!
Decklists are required.
Pokemon Battle Roads Schedule at AU

Alternate Universes will be hosting Pokemon Battle Roads Tournaments at all three of our locations as follows:
Holmes: Saturday, September 24th - Registration at 10AM, Play at 10:30AM
Blue Bell: Saturday, October 1st - Registration at 10AM, Play at 11AM
Wilmington: Saturday, October 8th - Registration at 10AM, Play at 11:00AM
Entry: Free
Format: Modified Constructed – Bring your own 60 card deck using cards from HeartGold SoulSilver and later. We will use the Black & White rules. Decklists are required.
PRIZES: (Prizes go to the Top 4 in each age group)
1st Place: Gold Victory Cup & 4 booster packs
2nd Place: Silver Victory Cup & 4 booster packs
3rd Place: Bronze Victory Cup & 2 booster packs
4th Place: 2 booster packs
You may play in as many Battle Roads as you would like.
These are Premier events (so you can gain rating points). The K value will be 4.
After the swiss rounds (where everyone plays) there will be a maximum single elimination cut of top 4.
MTG Magic Celebration & Free Mini Master Tournament 9/10

Alternate Universes will be holding the first Magic Celebration at all three of our stores on Saturday, September 10th! Just for showing up at the celebration, you’ll get a free Magic 2012 booster pack. Not only that, but the first 4 customers who come in during the celebration and buy a Deckbuilder’s Toolkit will also get a free T-shirt!
That’s not all, as during the day, we’ll be holding a FREE Mini Master (a.k.a. Pack Wars) tournament at each store, thanks to Wizards of the Coast. The play will be Swiss-style, and for each round that you win you’ll get another free pack of M12!
